Energy and Performance
Swimming could be called a “complete” sport since it exercises almost every muscle in the body, improves aerobic capacity and has very little impact on the joints and bone structures as the water supports the bodyweight.
Since this sport is mainly aerobic it leads the athlete to consume oxygen to produce energy; however, it is also composed of sprinting exercises, which are an anaerobic activity likened to sprinting in athletics.
The mix of aerobic or anaerobic activity creates different demands on the body as well as building muscle strength similar to using weights.
NAMEDSPORT> has products to support the swimmer from BCAA’s to help in energy production and to protect muscle catabolism to energy products in the Total Energy range. Due to the high intensity of the training the recovery phase becomes important and protein products like High Whey 6.4, Aminonam and Probasic should be considered. Although in water hydration is also an important factor and products like Isonam and Maltonam can be used to fuel training.
