Informed-Sport (LGC) is a WADA-experienced laboratory that performs testing of supplements to the same international analytical standard (ISO 17025) that WADA urine/blood testing is carried out to.

Informed-Sport is a testing and certification programme for the sports nutrition industry, designed to ensure products are not inadvertently contaminated with substances prohibited in sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The Informed-Sport programme was created in 2008 in close collaboration with UK Anti-Doping, the UK’s National Anti-Doping Organisation, and members of the supplements industry.

Responsibility for the quality of a product rests entirely with the manufacturer, and reputable manufacturers do everything in their power to keep their supplements free from contaminants.

However, even a trace level of contamination with a banned substance can be a threat to the career of an athlete and identifying contamination at this level requires a sensitivity of screening considerably beyond routine quality control systems.
