SCI CLUB 18
In 1930, eighteen friends, all belonging to the university section of the Italian Alpine Club (SUCAI), determined to learn the latest downhill techniques, attended a course at the Hannes Schneider school in St. Anton am Arlberg, the most famous of the epoch. The enthusiasm was such that on their return they decided to found a club of university skiers. Thus, in a pub in Rome, the Sci Club 18 was founded, whose purpose was the promotion of skiing and sport in general and the moral elevation of youth. The Sci Club 18 is now based in Cortina d'Ampezzo, it's not just alpine skiing! The legendary off-piste sci18, the construction of the Via Ferrata Sci Club 18 completed in 2008, organising the Freeride Challenge Punta Nera since 2011, ski-sailing, cross-country skiing, golf and much more. Not least is the commitment to the Ampezzo community and the continuous initiatives of solidarity. The Sci Club 18 is ready to face new challenges as a protagonist, with the utmost respect for tradition and the founding principles that inspired 18 young university students back in 1930.
